2025
We are looking to recruit a team of eco-warriors who are passionate about tent saving and festivals to bring good vibes and dedication to our community. The role includes attending UK festivals to set up, run, and pack down our campsites of pre-pitched tents for customers.
Camplight 2025 Plans
THE 2025 FESTIVALS:
We are recruiting crew for the following festivals. Please note, Boomtown and Shambala are our most popular, and often over-subscribed festivals. We give priority to returning crew, followed by people who sign up to work at other festivals with us too. Therefore, it is unlikely we will offer you a position at these festivals if they are the only ones you apply for.
* World Yoga Festival
* Green Gathering
* Boomtown
* Shambala
* GreenBelt
PERKS:
- Entry to the festival
- Pay rate of £13 per hour
- Meals provided (3 meals a day during the build and break, and lunch provided during the live show)
- Camping with the Camplight Crew – a friendly, inclusive crew with great vibes
- Subsistence payments towards travel: 25p/mile for car share, pay for public transport, 35p/mile van share, 45p/mile trailer share, pay for public transport.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- We require all crew to have completed one of our tent training days (dates below). These training days are unpaid but crucial in setting you up for the season.
- If you have worked for us before, you’re set to go without needing to attend another tent training (unless you’d like a refresher of course!)
Somerset tent training: 17th, 18th, 19th & 20th May.
- The nearest train station is Castle Cary, we can organise lifts from Glastonbury town
- If you are new to the crew, please make sure that you can attend one full day of these tent training dates.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS:
- Please apply via the link below.
- This is your chance to tell us how great you are! All applications are freshly assessed each year, the initial round of assessments is completely anonymous so even if you’ve worked with us before – seize this as your chance to sell yourself!
- At the end of April, we will begin inviting people to tent training.
- Upon completion of tent training, selected crew will be offered positions at specific festivals based on their suitability and expression of interest in those festivals within the application form.
- If you have worked with us before and are therefore choosing to not attend tent training, we will contact you about selection outcomes at the same time as the rest of the crew (after tent training – so after 20th May).
- We may choose to put you on the reserve list for some festivals, this will be communicated following tent training.
- Once selected, you will be added to the WhatsApp groups (within the Camplight WhatsApp Community) for the festivals that you have been chosen to work at.
- Within this application form we also collect information needed for festival accreditation, welfare, medical information. This includes personal data, all data is stored and managed safely in line with GDPR regulations and will be deleted once it is no longer relevant. A certain amount will be shared with festivals accreditation and passes office to enable your entry into festivals.
THE FINANCAL BITS:
We run a deposit, ticket repayment and coop equal pay scheme; here’s a breakdown of how it works:
Payment:
- As a Coop, all crew are paid at the same rate of £13 per hour.
- First, you pay off the price of your festival ticket. For example, if the price of the ticket is £130, you would work the first 10 hours to pay this off and then each hour following this you record on your time sheet and invoice us following the festival.
Deposit:
- Once we have offered you a position, we will then ask you for a deposit of £125 which must be paid within 7 upon receiving the offer to secure your place.
- This deposit is transferable across festivals, so you only need to pay it once to cover however many festivals you are invited to work at with us. We hope that this will help break down the financial barriers to access when joining our crew.
- If we have not received your deposit within 7 days of the offer, we will begin offering your place to other applicants.
- We will start sending out offers at the end of April. We hope this enables enough time for you to put some money aside for this.
- At the end of the summer season, upon completion of your 2025 work with us, you will receive a full refund of your deposit.
